This part fits on 7 inch Steel, 8 inch Steel or 8 inch Resin frames. This is an older style of joint which utilizes a 1 inch rail (or track). It measures 5 inch 5/8 inch wide, 3 inch 3/4 inch deep and 3/4 inch tall.

THIS PART ONLY WORKS WITH 1 inch RAILS. If you buy this part, do NOT purchase 5/8 inch rails. If you are not certain, measure the rails on your pool. If they are 7/8 inch, they are considered 1 inch rails. Be aware, that newer pools (2010 & newer) use resin joints, but these new resin joints only fit with 5/8 inch rails instead of 1 inch rails. If your pool uses this part, you may replace all of your top joints with resin joint 2176 or all your bottom joints with resin joints 2276, but you will also need to purchase 5/8 inch rails for your entire pool. Resin joints have an advantage because they are corrosion resistant. Steel joints have an advantage because they can bend without cracking.
