Flip-out! efficiently converts pool water from biguanide (Baquacil™, Soft Swim™, Revacil™, Clear Comfort™, etc). Water stays clear and safe to swim while you convert. Stronger and faster than chlorine or traditional non-chlorine shocks. Convert pool water to any other sanitizing system. Benefits: Converts biguanide pool water quickly and with no color reaction, while you swim. Advantages: Much stronger oxidizer than monopersulfate (non-chlorine shock) or chlorine. Unaffected by UV and heat. Contains dry non-polymer clarifier to remove complexed biguanide. Use to convert pool water from biguanide: Filter continuously while converting. Test for metals and sequester if needed, then . . . Step 1. Balance water: Calcium Hardness = min. 250 ppm; pH = 7.6; Total Alkalinity 80-120. Backwash, wash, or flush existing filter media (replace D.E. if applicable). Step 2. Add 2 lbs. of flip-out!™ per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Maintain one 3” chlorine tablet in skimmer. Continue to circulate for 3 days. Do not shock with chlorine or monopersulfate for at least two weeks. Step 3. After 3 days, replace filter medium (sand, D.E., or cartridge, whichever is applicable). Step 4. Maintain one 3” chlorine tablet per 10,000 gallons in skimmer basket (preferred), feeder, or floater and treat with cloud-out!™ following recommended “weekly” dosage for 14 days, 21 days if customer has had a water mold problem. NOTE: An important part of the process of eliminating biguanide from the pool’s system is maintaining a clean filter. Filter medium should be back-washed, flushed, or washed at least weekly until the process is complete. Chemical cleaning of the new sand or cartridge, or replacement of the D.E, after the second week is urged to eliminate collected biguanide debris and avoid future cloudiness. The most effective method for accomplishing this task for a sand filter is to mix 1½ lbs. of dry acid (pH or alkalinity down) in 2 – 3 gallons of water and flush through the filter from the skimmer while the filter is on backwash. Rinse well, after acid flushing. Do not flush acid into pool!
