Aaaahhh... Your very own backyard oasis. Fun in the sun with your family and friends. Sounds great, doesn't it? You bet it does.
But there are so many great choices out there. Above-ground. Inground. What's a poor pool buyer to do?
Well, first of all, a little research. And that's exactly what we've done. We've put together some valuable information designed to help you make the decision as to what might be the best pool for you and your family.
There are many factors to consider, including: your budget; the size of your lot; how much time and money you want to spend on maintenance; and even what part of the country you live in. Be sure to remember to ask the following key questions for each type of pool you might be interested in:
Price: What's it actually going to cost me to have an inground swimming pool, including decking, landscaping and options? The price of an inground swimming pool kit is about one third of the total cost of your the pool project. So let's say you are going to buy a 18x36 rectangle inground pool kit that costs you $6250.00. Then when you add in material and labor which will be about the same price as your pool kit that makes a total of $18750.00. This would be for a typical inground pool install, with a level backyard. This is where you the homeowner can help with the cost, you can sub-contract all the work out or what you cannot do your self or just do not want to do. This is your choice and your back yard that you are going to be looking at for a long time.
Picking your sub contractor ask questions like:
have you installed a vinyl liner pool before
what kind of base do you recommend for under the liner
who have you installed a swimming pool for
how long should it take providing mother-nature does not through rain shower or flood
Things that you must do:
look at the weather-need about 5-7 dry sunny days
take inventory of all the parts on the pick ticket - make sure you have everything before you start, everything

Above ground swimming pools: round pools are by far the easiest to install after the ground is level, you can generally install in one day. When installing a round pool three people can install without a lot of problems. You might need four when you go to set the walls. Oval on the other hand, well expect for them to take two days after the ground is level. When you are ready to install the walls you will need five people minimum six is best to set the walls.
Maintenance:How much work do I have to do to keep it clean, & what types and quantities of chemicals will you need to buy? You can expect to spend about $175.00 to $250.00 per year on chemicals. Cleanding your pool will depand on the location, trees, gravel roads, and how much you are in the pool. We recomand the Baracuda brand cleaners, they are quite and smooth in the opertions, just back wash after you have used your cleaner each time.
